MIRAMAR, Fla. (Jan. 23, 2008) - CompuPay, Inc., the fourth largest payroll services company in the country, today announced the completion of the acquisition of Advanced Payroll Systems (APS). Based in Modesto, Calif., APS has provided payroll services to California businesses for the past twenty years.
"APS has a very good reputation in the community and is a perfect complement to CompuPay," stated Charlie Lathrop, chairman and chief executive officer of CompuPay. "This transaction enables us to continue our expansion and growth throughout California. Moreover, we can offer APS clients a much broader selection of payroll products and related services such as PC and Internet-based payroll, full service tax filing, workers' compensation insurance, 401(k) plans, section 125 plans and more."
CompuPay has hired all APS employees and APS clients continue to work with the same payroll specialists with whom they are familiar. Additionally, CompuPay will continue to operate out of the current Modesto office. The Modesto office is now the sixth California office for CompuPay and one of 26 offices across the country.
CompuPay, Inc. was founded in 1980 and today is the largest privately-held payroll company in the U.S. and among the top five overall.
